Frequently ASked
Questions

Will I be sore after my massage?
It’s common to feel a bit sore or achy for 24–48 hours after your treatment, similar to post-exercise soreness. This is normal and part of your body’s healing response. Just make sure you keep moving and do the stretches that we will send you through email.
How often should I have a sports massage?
It depends on your goals. For general maintenance, once a month is a good starting point. If you’re training regularly or recovering from an injury, weekly or fortnightly sessions may be more effective.
Can I train after my massage?
We usually recommend allowing at least 24 hours of recovery time before heavy training. A light walk or gentle movement is fine, but rest helps your body get the most out of the treatment.
What should I do after my massage?
Here’s some simple aftercare advice to help your body recover and get the most from your session:
-
Drink plenty of water – this helps keep you hydrated and reduce soreness.
-
Avoid strenuous activity – give your muscles some rest for the next 24 hours.
-
Apply heat or cold – use a warm compress for tension or a cold pack if there’s any swelling or inflammation.
-
Stretch gently – light stretching can help reduce stiffness, but avoid anything too intense.
-
Move - Movement is medicine!
Should I take a hot bath or shower afterwards?
Yes, a warm bath or shower can be soothing and help your muscles relax even more. Epsom salts in the bath can also help ease soreness. Just avoid very hot water if you already feel sore or bruised.
I feel really tired after my massage. Is that normal?
Yes, totally normal. Sports massage stimulates the body’s repair systems and can trigger a parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) response, leaving you feeling tired or even emotional. Rest and hydration will help.
I feel light-headed or dizzy
This can sometimes happen, especially if you’ve been lying down for a while. Sit up slowly, take your time getting dressed, and drink some water. If you ever feel unwell after a massage, please let us know.
Can I go back to work or drive after the massage?
Yes, in most cases you can—but bear in mind you may feel relaxed, tired, or a little fuzzy-headed. If you feel unusually tired or sore, consider giving yourself some downtime.
